Celebrating five years

CNBC Business will in 2009 celebrate its fifth anniversary and fiftieth issue, confirming its role as a much-valued voice in European and global business, sold on newsstands in 45 countries including Gulf and African states beyond the core European markets.

Globalisation is the backdrop to everything we write, yet Europe remains a focal point because as a hotbed of entrepreneurial talent it is so widely varied, so specialized and yet as a single market so homogenous. CNBC Business is a product of that reality, with its main editorial office in London, aided by a wide network of contributors based across the world.

CNBC Business offers entrepreneurial values expressed in progressive attitudes towards emerging markets and asset classes. This has resulted in unusual attention being paid to everything from the emerging Clean Tech and carbon markets to new asset classes such as water. Alongside traditional strengths in real estate and regional reporting, the editor is always searching for new trends and unusual angles. Recent examples include everything from a focus on high speed rail links to a face to face interview with Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, the inventor of micro-credit.
